Press Releases  will follow shortly after each of the Open Public Sessions of GSD Monthly Board of Directors Meetings,  generally scheduled on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Regular Meeting Called to Order at 5PM Tuesday, July 23, 2024. 

 

General Manager Report:

  • Contact with the California Special Districts, open forum, regarding the Collection of Late Charges, where a District in Southern California was able to collect payment through through Tax Rolls, was being considered as to the process. There were also inquiries about the matter, from other Districts, saying we have a better Collection Ordinance, and they will be following our lead.
  • Though the doors were kept OPEN, during Mary's Vacation, sustitute staff was less efficient at dealing with customer payments, finances and problems. Everyone is happy she back.
  • The past month has had multiple water leaks, requiring many hours of staff time, over time, and in one case, the assistance of an outside contractor was needed.  All employees coordinated to notify customers, as much as possible, of water outages during these urgent and necessary repairs. 
  • A stretch of unbearable summer heat tested, but did not thwart GSD staff from conducting business or operational demands for getting work done. Thanks to everyone for stepping up under these conditions and diligently addressing customer complaints.
  • The FIRE on Alderpoint Road caused a few problems. Some close calls with tanks and equipment, which staff kept updating as it unfolded.  Several customers in the affected area were also in contact with status reports of the shifts in direction of the fire until it was abated. 

Regular Agenda Items & General Business  proceeded with full Board support and no additional Public Comments were recorded.
